THE SCRAPE - ISSUE 1

Gutter - By Salo

In August of 2022, Grant "Gutter" Geyman made the journey from his small hometown of Carbondale, Illinois to Portland, Oregon. In a car loaded up with guitars, a few beat up notebooks, and a manic mother in the passenger seat, he trekked across the United States to make his music in a new, bigger town. Gutter, at the moment, is a collection of songs written over the last couple of years, written and performed with a simple acoustic guitar.

Gutter's sound blends elements of classic country and folk of the likes of John Prine and Kris Kristofferson, accompanied by a dark cynicism and angst from the punk roots of his hometown, taking inspiration from songwriters like Kurt Cobain and Will Toledo. While he doesn’t have any officially released music, you can find a handful of acoustic recordings on his YouTube Channel.
