The Acoustic Minds - By Silver Cypress
Working as a musical team, Amanda and Jenni Price created The AM (short for Acoustic Minds). They started sing- ing together at quite a young age. At three, their father, the worship leader at their church, inspired them to mimic their own version of his harmonious voice. It wasn't until after high school that the girls happened upon the project name. Jenni tells the story of calling up her sister in the midst of writing a song. It just didn't feel right singing with-out her. Within moments, Amanada jumped in harmonizing, binding them together acoustically. Hence, Acoustic Minds was born.
Like twins sometimes do, they create their own reality. They were spurred on by the desire to touch and heal people the way music did for them. Over time their music has changed to become a voice for others, speaking up about injustices, turning their music into a tool to give back, and create further harmony in the world. Performing for benefits like "Hands Across Japan", helping with fundraisers assisting displaced Chileans after volcanic eruptions, and supporting those after hurricanes that devastated the United States are just a few examples. in 2005 they did a ten week tour of the US, blessing 36 states and 59 cities with their harmonies. Eighty show's in eighty days. They recall traveling with a map in the days before google or apple maps. Driving through all night, arriving at the next stop with leftover glitter smeared across their cheeks from the night before, they hopped town to town.
Aiming high, their dream venue is the famed Red Rocks, in California. If given the opportunity to create their own venue, they envision a festival safe for non-binary folks and women to attend to and truly celebrate the core qualities of femininity.
The AM brings good vibes no matter what the medium. Lighting is Jenni's specialty, gifting people with Christmas lights during isolation to help them bring energy to their spaces. They masterminded decorations for Fall Fest 2022 as well. Always questioning how to make a space better, cueing fog effects, abruptly changing lighting colors to meet the mood of the room, they combine their talent to create a vision no one could have expected.
