“For those who, like me, did not know what "Kiki" meant until today, here is a brief rundown. Kiki is a ballroom term. The Kiki Scene was created out of a need for an open, welcoming space that was more economically accessible and less competitive than other areas of the Ballroom scene. Kiki is without one unanimously accepted definition. It can refer to a space, an aesthetic, a show, something you do, or a form of expression. As ethereal as it is, there is only one thing I'm sure of. Kiki House of Flora is doing it beautifully.” expresses Salo, our Scrape team editor-in-chief.

Founded in 2016, the Kiki House of Flora has quickly become a fixture of Portland's vibrant ballroom scene. With nine members, including the legendary Father Passa Flora, the Kiki House of Flora is known for its fierce performances, stunning looks, and commitment to community building. 

The house's members have been making waves in the Portland competitive ballroom scene, winning categories such as "voguing," "runway," and "face" at local balls. The house's performances are a visual feast, featuring elaborate fashion, fierce makeup, and movements that are nothing short of works of art. The Kiki House of Flora has made a name for itself in the Portland ballroom scene by bringing its own unique flair to these categories. 

This year Spring Fest 2023 promises to be a showcase of The Kiki House of Flora's talent. Among the performers to watch out for are Executrix Flora, whose voguing skills are unmatched; Indigo Flora, who brings a fierce and sultry energy to the runway; Lala Flora, the resident drag superstar; Mahal Flora, who combines athleticism and grace in his movements; Deity Flora, who brings a regal and other-worldly presence to the ballroom floor; and Two Moods Flora, who will bring down the house with his flawless hands performances.
