Rising Asian-American R&B/Hip Hop Artist Jai Baby exudes a cool and laid-back vibe as she sits down for an interview at Page Street Studio. Her furry friend, Gepetto the guinea pig, sits in her lap, and the pair exudes chill even in the upbeat bustle of the room. "Oh my God, he peed on me! Can you grab him?" Gepetto's chill doesn't last long.

Jai Baby's love for music started early. She fondly remembers writing one of her earliest songs about making pizza when she was a child. "Pizza pizza pizzaaaa". Absolute masterpiece. However, it wasn't until she started attending open mics as an adult that she discovered her voice within Portland's music scene. She was pleasantly surprised to find a supportive and thriving community of musicians in her own hometown and has since been booking shows and collaborating with other local artists.
Jai Baby pursued a degree in music production, determined to immerse herself in the industry that brings her the most joy. Her ultimate goal is to work full time in the music industry, whether as a performer, backup vocalist, or utilizing her degree in production. While mainstream success is a desirable outcome, her passion for music is the driving force in her life.
